Are there vendors who sell prepackaged website solutions for small businesses? If so, please provide links.
An acquaintance of mine is an independent auto mechanic. He has asked me to help him put together a simple website to help publicize his shop …. something on the order of “brochure-ware”.
My first thought was to look around at existing websites and get permission to reuse/borrow by looking at the “source code” with View + Source. I’ve been the volunteer webmaster for a number of websites over the years, and am familiar with html, css, and php.
However, I got to wondering if there are vendors with pre-packaged websites that might be a better way to go. My impression is that such a “bundle” would have a variety of “templates” which you would customize for your specific situation (phone number, address, pictures, services provided, etc.)
The proposed website wouldn’t be actually selling anything, so it wouldn’t need to handle credit cards, rma’s, or a “shopping cart”.

look for templates like templates.com and others like freewebtemplates.com, steves-templates.com
or try a google search—>web templates
but the best is microsoft office live since its free, i dont know if they have automotive template though.

There are two ways you can go. If you go to http://www.doggydomains.com theres a place that says build a website. There’s a link that takes you to prebuilt website templates you can search through and customize. Or, you can get the website tonight package that lets you create a website easily without the programming. Hope this helps.
