The building in question is the office of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. I’m doing research for a novel I’m writing. My best guess is it’s a Romanesque Revival. Thanks in advance!

  1. The picture is quite small. My guess would be Neo-classical rather than Romanesque Revival. While the building does have the round topped windows of the latter, it lacks the Gothic-inspired steep roof lines and has a classical triangular pediment and a symmetrical facade.
